Instruction that Incorporates Technology
Know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.
Reflection: Developing a Custom
Rubric really helped me to understand what to
look for in a web site myself. Along with
artifact #4, this standard is covered so
well I believe. I learned how to plan,
organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for
my Teacher Help Web Site and I enjoyed learning
it all.

Artifact #14
Descriptors: Custom Rubric
Title: Web Site Evaluation
Rubric
Course: Extended Web Authoring 202
Date Created: 12/17/02
Source: Individual Project
Media: Web Page
Description: This is a Custom
Rubric created to evaluate the Teacher Help Web
Site that is from Standard 11
artifact #4. I was to determine the
required elements for my rubric as it would be
applied to my Teacher Help Web Site. A
Rubric is a scoring guide that describes
criteria for student performance and
differentiates among different levels of
performance within those criteria.
Rationale: I researched sites
that were used to evaluate sites for the web.
The site I used was designed with an educational
purpose in mind. It is cited at the bottom
of the web page. I really liked the way
the rubric was put together. I modified
and added my own criteria for evaluating a web
site. I asked permission to use part of
her rubric as a guide and she said it was ok.
Implications for future: I will
use this rubric in my Web Mastering class for my
future students to get a better
understanding of what to look for in a web site.
I also think it would be a good idea for my
students to determine their own required
elements for their own custom rubric.
Reviewer's Comments: I like the
headings you included at the top (unacceptable,
weak, strong, etc.). That is probably
something I should try to tie in with my rubric.
