Description: This was an
assignment to produce a web page with a table of
3 technologies in which I was to research and
evaluate the technologies for educational
purposes. I also was to produce a 'how to'
for one of the technologies.
Rationale: I chose Quicktime,
Video, and Video Conferencing as my 3
technologies and made a table showing the
description, educational purpose, educational
value, and educational limitations. I
researched the technologies and with my own
experience proceeded to fill in the blanks.
I also produced a web page showing
how to add mpeg or
mpg Movie Video Files to your webpage. I
included my resources and cited them along with
adding an mpg video that I had made.
Implications for future: Since I
work for a school district, I am around video a
lot for athletic events, distance learning, and
for the school's web site. I have some
experience with video and with each passing day
seems video is increasingly coming of age and is
pressing upon us the importance of itself.
Distance Learning especially seems to be
catching on for high school students to be able
to take college courses while still in high
school. Our school for example had one
distance learning course last year, this year we
are going to have three! Video technology
has so many facets in our daily lives and the
more we understand what it really is, the better
our future with video will be.
