Organizing Files & Folders

Why worry about 'Organizing Files and Folders'?

There is no single command for saving all the files associated with a web site to their correct folder.  Pages must be saved individually by selecting the 'save' command from the 'File' menu.  Graphics must be saved to their individual folder of your choosing.  I recommend putting your Graphics files into the 'images' folder.

1).   Now that we have inserted our Graphics, we need to Save the Graphics files to a folder.  Click on 'File', and 'Save' as in the graphic below:

2).  The 'Save Embedded Files' Dialog box comes up.  Make sure the Folder you are saving the files to says the 'images' folder.  If it doesn't, click the change folder button and select the 'images' folder and click ok.  Then click 'ok' at the bottom of the 'Save Embedded Files' Dialog box.  The Dialog box should appear as follows:

3).  You will notice now that the graphics files are listed under the 'images' folder as show in the graphic below:

4).  Be sure and keep up with where you save your files and folders, you will need to know where your files are when working with them.  This also applies to the navigational structure in case you plan on making your own little web site, but that is getting beyond this basic instruction.

Click 'here' to go to the Publish page or go Backto the Top of the page and click on the Publish button.
