Creating a Web Page

What do I do now?

A Web Page includes Text (Title & Content), Tables, and Graphics.  There is more you can add as you progress in Web Authoring, but for now the basics will suffice.

1).  To Create a New Web Page, click on 'File', 'New', 'Page or Web', and choose 'Blank Page' from the panel on the right.  The screen should look like the graphic below:

2).  The content of a Web Page is the information presented to the user.  One form of content is Text, which consists of characters typed from the keyboard.  Text is added to a Web Page by typing it in Page View with the Normal tab selected.  Select what kind of font and size your want your Text to look like and type in your name.  In the graphic below, I selected 'Times New Roman' and '5 (18pt)' and typed in my name:

3).  A new web page is stored in the computer's memory until it is saved.  Saving a Web Page creates a file of what is currently in your computer's memory.  To Save your Web Page, click on 'File', 'Save As', and a 'Save As' box will pop up as in the graphic below:

4).  You will notice that the 'Page Title' is your name and the 'File name' is index.html.  Do not change these, as this is the correct names and go ahead and click on the 'Save' button to save your Web Page.  Now you will notice that the tap on your web shows 'index.htm'.  This is your Home Page.  You can continue to add Text if you want, but for now, we will go on to show you how to arrange text onto your Web Page by going to the Tables page, click 'here' or go to the top and click on the Tables Button.
