Racial, Ethnic Diversity Primarily caucasion. Constraint Less variety of opinions and ideas.
Disability or Impairment ADHD, limited mobility, hearing and vision problems. Constraint possibly The lesson will include visual, audio and kinesthetic aspects to assist all learners.
Related Experience Some teachers have used PowerPoint for lesson plans before . Resource There should be a variety of PPT aspects that teachers, as a whole, are familiar with.
Attitude Toward Subject

The majority of the teachers have a desire to learn more about PPT but some are not as enthisiastic.

Resource Encourage teachers that have used PPT to share what they like about it with the others.
Competitiveness Teachers can be grouped by subject as they tend to have a certain competitiveness between subject areas. Resource Will fuel participation.

Computer, PPT notes copies, projector and ideas. Constraint not likely Materials are all available. Ideas will be prepared ahead of time for each subject in case the teachers need help with ideas.

Computer, software and paper. Resource Minimal equipment needed.
Time for Design and Production
Two weeks. Resource Allows for adequate time to complete the presentation.

Better lessons that are well prepared and easy to follow and seeing technology use in action. Resource Provide a questionnaire for students after the teacher has prepared a lesson using the process.

Previous knowledge of lesson plan preparation and how PowerPoint can be used to improve lessons. Material is not difficult to learn. Previous e-mail including an example PPT attached.
2. Teachers will be able to create a lesson that utilizes audio, visual and kinesthetic learning methods.

1. Students will be able to insert clip art and images.
2. Students will be able to insert sounds.
3. Participants will be able to utilize their notes for self guided instruction.

Partially basic teaching techniques that teachers will already be familiar with.

 

Simple commands in PPT that are not difficult for most people.

Demonstrate the steps and/or have other teachers demonstrate the commands.
3. Teacher will create an instructional slide show for their classroom use.

1. Participants will fill in the blanks on their instructions.

2. Students will create a slideshow of step by step instructions telling how to use PowerPoint for createing lesson plans.
Basic computer skills. Step by step instructions will be used to introduce the software. Students will be allowed to work independently and ask questions as needed while the instructor walks around the room. Group teachers with a mix of those who have and have not used PPT. Ask for advanced teachers to help with walking around to assist.
