description of the disability/impairment and how it effects the learner's ability to learn Entire brain is affected to some extent.  Results in cognitive difficulties and behavioral problems that have the most significant impact in terms of independence. A severe developmental disorder characterized by major difficulties in social interactions, and restricted and unusual patterns or interest and behavior.  
Types of Students Students who have suffered brain injury.  Most always this is caused from receiving a forceful blow to the head, such as in a car accident, severe fall, etc. The level of the student is directly determined by the extent of the injury. Usually has IQ that falls within the normal range, but has poor nonverbal communication skills, monotonic speech and little ability to form friendships.
