Specific Evidence (The lesson I worked on inmoduel one will not be taught until March, so that teachers and I are developing other lessons that will expose the studnets to all the technologies we planned to use so they will have some experience before that lesson. The DNN lesson from this module has been fabulous! The timing could not have been better, and the reception by the teachers has been great. This was deffinately a lesson well done.)

Week 5

This week has been a real challenge. The students are back, and my teachers are nervous. But I have been able to put out several fires, and get things working again. This is my first year as a full fledged Integration Specialist. I have no classes! I am excited and anxious all at once. I am going to spend this week getting the last of the summer stuff doled out, and training the teachers on the gradebook. I think I am on track, but I've been locked in my office trying to sort things out. I hope that my teachers will be ready for me to crash their meetings next week.

I think for now I need to feel like I have a grip! I know that I am not far behind, but I feel like I am being buried. I am so ready to get into the classrooms, that having to do the bookkeeping is getting to me. I've never started a year without students, I wonder if that is my problem? I can do this, I just have to get through this week!

Week 4

I think I have the great fortune to work with teachers who share many of the same values and goals that I have. This makes it very easy to work together to get things done. I think I am on the right track. So far I've been able to blend both family and work goals, and I don't think I've had to sacrifice anything.

I think just by taking this class, and practicing the hardest part of being an MTT is enhancing my skills. I am realizing that I can listen to my teachers without having to put in my two cents. The teachers I work with have really great ideas, and abilities and are willing to help me when they can. I am very fortunate!

Week 3

I think the most important thing I can do to build and keep the trust of my colleagues is to treat them the way I want to be treated. I realize that in the capacity of an MTT, I may observe, and hear things that are private and personal. I try very hard not to be the type of person that divulges information that is not mine to pass on. I know that when working with technology, many teachers are in a very vulnerable place, and I want to encourage them to move forward. I do not want to be the reason they resist change.

I am noticing more and more, that I am a good listener! I am practicing being an listener, and that is so hard for me. But I am noticing that the conversations I am having now are mor productive, because I am fully understanding what my teachers are saying. And I am better able to assist them because I know what they need. Listening is the KEY!!

Week 2

I am realizing that the people that I work with really value my knowledge, and my desire to share. I find that funny because I have always described myself as just knowledgable enough in any program to really mess things us. I am glad that they look at me as a source of knowledge, because I find that I am having the most fun when I am showing people something new. I just hope that they will continue to see me as a source over the next year.

Week 1

I am learning that I am really a people person. I get along with other, and I really enjoy being challenged with their questions. I like trying to problem solve with others. I am developing a keen sense of what the "guide on the side" is like.

This is everyday life! The relationships and trust I am building are going to be the focal point of this next year. There are so many new technologies going in to my district next year that the MTTC skills are going to help me with. I am so glad was able to get in.
