To enable continuous/frequent feedback between you and the students

 Discussion Questions, Instructor Feedback

Instructor questions at several strategic points during lesson

Group and individual student discussions

Instructor uses three types of Open-ended questioning:

·        Big Question, meant to prompt students’ thinking about the central idea at beginning of Unit

·        Focus questions, at the beginning of a research article to focus on key content

·        Conclusion questions, to help students sum up what they have learned at the end of each activity

To encourage the students to reflect on their learning progress and achievement

 Discussions and other collaboration activities, reflective questions, and reflection through journaling

 Group and individual discussions will occur several times during lesson

Write their thoughts after each activity in an online Journal.

A Star Dictionary will be produced by students as they are introduced to new terms

The Instructor will:

  • Initiate Group discussions
  • Encourage student collaboration
  • Create student self-assessments and checklists

  • Portfolios
  • Projects
  • Research papers
  • Poster sessions to share using photos assembled as virtual posters in online area of My Journal in the Jason Project

 

Instructor will create:

  • Online customized assessments to fit goals
  • Pre-tests, post-tests, unit or section tests, quizzes, or cumulative reviews to support learning goals
  • Modified Open-ended questions provided in Jason printed curriculum to fit learning goals
  • Authentic assessment for performance-based assessment of:
    • Portfolios
    • Projects
    • Research papers
    • Poster sessions
