Learner factors that might impact learning in the classroom environment.

Analyzing the student learners targeted in the instructional design being developed is a means to identify the learner characteristics that will likely impact the process and outcomes of the learning experience.

 Age/Academic Range 10-11 years of age/ 5th Grade + Students in this age group are always eager to learn. All students enjoy using technology in the classroom.
Sex Distribution 56% girls & 44% boys + A good balance mix of students.
Racial/Ethnic Diversity 95% Hispanic, 4% White, & 1% Black + Students still do not have computers at home. But, many have friend and relatives that have computers at home. They also have access to computers in either computer lab or library.
Grade Level 5th Grade + There young and still eager to learn.
Disability or Impairment 3 Special Education Students + No modifications are required.
Developmentally Appropriate All activities are appropriate for their stage of development  + Students have the necessary knowledge and skills to use to learn Real Slideshow.
Prerequisite Knowledge Basic computer, typing, and use of FD Mavica + Students have prior working knowledge and skills to use a computer and FD Mavica.
Related Experience Students have the required knowledge from Science and Technology Applications + Students will be placed into small groups and will be assigned to take pictures from birds, cats, primates, and other mammals.
Perception of Role as Student Will be a fun and exciting way to show what they learned from the experience from the zoo and skill learned using Real Slideshow.  + Students will be the participants and creators of their own project, which will be viewed by students and teachers of other grade levels.
Motivation for Learning Intrinsic motivation due to their ownership of the project. + The pictures they will take at the zoo and the eagerness to create a new project for others to view in itself is exciting.
Attitude Toward Subject All students love animals and using technology. + Positively fun and exciting.
Expectations from Lesson Students will be able to classify animal from the zoo and learn to use Real Slideshow. + Learn new skills (using Slideshow) and reinforcing old (using a computer, FD Mavica, communication, and time management skills. 
Competiveness Students will want to give and receive suggestions to create a better project  + Students brainstorming will only make the project better. Through Selection of pictures, storyboard, and narration of  slideshow.
