Instructional Design and Learning Strategies

Analyzing the student learners targeted in the instructional design being developed is a means to identify the learner characteristics that will likely impact the process and outcomes of the learning experience.

Aspect 1: Syntax

Take and use digital pictures  from the Zoo field trip. Direct Instruction Plan Lesson, prepare modification for students with IEP, Assign Topics, Create an assignment worksheet for student and teacher, review use of FD Mavica. Take pictures of birds, cats, primates and other mammals. 
Create storyboard Guided Instruction,  Cooperative Planning, Discussion Show students an example of the final product. Assist students with questions on editing pictures and creating dialog for slideshow. Organize Pictures according to group, develop appropriate dialog for slideshow.
Create a slideshow using Real Slideshow 2.0. Direct Instruction, Scaffolding, Guided Instruction, Discussion   Tell students how to open program, Insert Image, Edit Image, use Transition Effects, add audio captions, and save presentation. Add and edit pictures, add and edit dialog, add transitions. 
Check, save and present slideshow Cooperative Reflection, Authentic Reflective Assist in questions of saving files, lead discussion toward meeting the rubric requirements. Check to see if it meets rubric criteria, save file, and present slideshow. Express thoughts on the project.

Aspect 2: The Social System: Interpersonal structure of the instructional experience.

Students will be collaborating throughout the project. They will compile and research their information in the format that meets the rubrics requirement. They will use prior experiences in past projects and build upon them in reaching their performance objectives asked of them. The will view a prototype of their slide show. The will discuss and reflect their ideas of the slideshow. Consider suggestions and if necessary re-edit and save assignment for presentation.  

Aspect 3: The Role of the Instructor: General instructional Role

Provide instruction on how to use digital camera. Provide instruction and handout for assignment Guide students on how to use Real Slideshow 2.0. Provide Rubric on what is expected of their assignment. 

Aspect 4: The Support System: types of instructional, technical, and other resources required for the instrucion.

Student will be provided with an assignment handout and a rubric. Provide FD Mavica for  field trip. Provide access to the computer lab during class, in the morning and after school to meet student lab needs. Provide multimedia projector for presentation.
