Why Rules?

Rubric Collaboration, Cooperation, Participation, Mechanics

Will be used to evaluate Collaboration, Participation, Attitude and Mechanics. This rubric emphases the Process involved and the Mechanics of the Final Paper.

Learning Goals:
Understand the need for rules and laws.
Research the Hammurabi using the Internet and Library Resources.
Collaborate in groups to compile the information gathered to answer the
Question: “Why do we need rules?”
Understand and apply the Writing Process.

Learning Objectives:
Brainstorn the rules for baseball, basketball and football.
Compare and Contrast how those games would be without any rules.
Research using Search Engines and a Teacher-created Webpage.
Complete a Surf Log and a Web Journal.
Research utilizing Library Resources.
Compile ten rules for each sport and 10 rules for the class.
Discuss compilation of the class rules and prioritize.
Choose favorite Hammurabi Law explaing why it was chosen.
One student provides an Oral Report of the groups findings.
Establish class rules from a compiled list.
Practice the writing process through individual and peer-editing to produce
A final draft of the class rules.
