1. Work with instructor so that he can
develop material to demonstrate obtaining pictures off the
internet |
Lecture/Discussion
Presentation
Direct Instruction |
Describe steps to capture and save images
from the internet
Give Handouts of Steps to Obtaining
Pictues
Allow hands on time for student/teacher to
work on capturing pictures
|
Discuss where to find pictures for each biome
Discuss the steps needed.
Will use appropriate vocabulary for
capturing pcitures from the Internet
Give examples of finding and saving
images |
|
2. Use scanner appropriately to obtain
images |

Collaboration
Student Teaching Examples
Hands On Technology Instruction |
Show student /teacher how to use the
scanner
Have student/teacher scan images to use in
his example
Allow student/teacher to take pictuers of
biomes from textbook and scan
|
Will use oral language to explain the camera functions to
students
Student/teacher will take pictures of biomes from the text
book and scan them to make the sample video
|
|
Demonstration
|
Have student/teacher show the
use of the scanner
Will provide feedback to
students on suggested video techniques |
Will show example pictures of biomes and the images in the
final video |
|
3. Teach Video software (Video Wave) to
utilize transitions, text and one special effect |
Using Video Software to create a video
Hands-on technology |
Give information about steps and procedures
to input pictures, videos.
Show text editing in Video wave
Demonstrate the use of transistions and
special effects
Show how to render the final video |
Build a sample video on biomes using
pictures and video from the internet and other sources
Create a video using transistions, text and
special effects.

Lecture |
Steps used in creating a video |
Create a video for each biome and include
sound |
|
4. Present the sample video and student
videos in “show and tell” fashion and save for younger
classes

5. Reason about the appropriate mentoring
style for a curriculum setting to develop a technology
integrated lesson. |
Questioning
Research
Application |
Will use questions to improve focus
Will plan a lesson for specific objectives
Observe mentoring styles and teaching styles in the
elementary setting
Plan the instructional unit.
Develop guidelines for student collaboration.
Develop assessment instrument.
Discuss effective classroom and lab-management
strategies.
Participate in pre-production, post-production and
distribution of products.
|
|
|
6. Demonstrate my understanding of theories
and factors that affect learning |
Data gathering
Analysis |
Will reflect on the diversity of the students
Be aware of groups formed
Will assure that classroom tasks are distributedly
equitably without regard to gender, race, national origin, or
disability
Will reflect on the effectiveness of teaching styles used
in a science classroom setting |
|
|
7. Know how to operate
HP Scanner |
Hands-on technology |
Will learn how to use the features of the scanner
Will teach students the downloading andcapturing of digital
video and still images using Kaaza |
|
|
8. Discuss and Evaluate the needs of
diverse learners. to determine accessible design concepts,
equity, and access of assistive technology |
Research |
Determine available assistive technology for use in science
lab settings
Will consider the individual needs of my students
Make notes on those students needing assistive
technology |
|
|
Aspect 2:
The social system
Describe the interpersonal structure of the instructional
experience. |
Students will work cooperatively to achieve
one video in class. Students will have to work together to be
successful. Students must feel comfortable in class for
presentations |
|
Aspect 3:
The role of the instructor
Describe your general instructional role. For example, will
you present material, guide students as they research their
own issues, etc? |
I will show the teacher how to use search
engines to find graphics and images needed. I will also show
the teacher how to create a video from beginning to end. My
role then is to guide the teacher/students in finding their
information.
I will demonstrate the features of the
video editing software and allow the teacher to teach the
students the concepts |
|
Aspect 4:
The support system
Describe the types and amount of instructional, technical,
and other resource support required for the instruction (e.g.,
instructional materials, communication capabilities).
|
Computer with projection system
Lab setting of 25 computers
Internet
Scanner
Video Wave Software
