Reflection Time: Use
the following questions to reflect on your lesson.
Questions to Ponder:?
Was
this lesson worth doing? Yes.
Lou Ann Cole was very receptive to working on a this learning module, implementing
technoloty into the Power Point Presentation. The lesson became quite student
centered as several Student Council Members as well as Drama Class members
participated in the creation of the presentation.
In
what ways was the lesson effective? The
lesson helped Lou Ann Cole present the Rules/Regulations in the GHS Student
Handbook in an interesting appealing manner. This lesson also reinforced my
knowledge as I continue to learn more about becoming a mentor to other educators.
What
evidence do you have for your conclusion? The
students who helped create the Power Point presentation took ownership in
putting the slides and video together. They showed enthusiasm as they worked
together to help the Assistant Principal with a project that would benefit
her students: a lesson that was optional; however, by Mrs. Cole's efforts
to bring together a presentation of the rules rather than simply relying on
students reading the contents, she accomplished her goals.
How
would you change this lesson for teaching it again? I think
this lesson will be taught again next year; at that time we will have something
to start with. The present presentation can be edited with new videos and
photos of the then current Student Council Members. Also, I would start the
process earlier in order to be able to refine the end product a little more.
Did
your students/educators find the lesson meaningful? Lou
Ann Cole expressed to me that she was pleased with the presentation.
Did
the lesson motivate your students/educators to “go beyond” what was required
Actually,
the Power Point Presentation was a "step beyond" what was required.
As Assistant Principal, Mrs. Cole is responsible for presenting the GHS students
with a Student Handbook. She went beyond that requirement by making the effort
through technology to make the experience enjoyable.
Did
you achieve your goals met/in progress in the required criteria? I feel
that my goals were met for the lesson.
