Jayne Germany: not sure how to get started...
Jayne Germany: no
Sandra Hines: I sent each of you an email of my goals
Jodie Ingram: sherry brott ask some specific questions and Connie has answered.
Jayne Germany: lookin at it right now...
Sandra Hines: do I need to read the help desk, will it helP?
Jodie Ingram: helped me (I think)
Sandra Hines: oh yes, it had a red flag and I did read it
Jayne Germany: just read help
Jayne Germany: i chattted with connie this morn and had similar converstion
Sandra Hines: reading the examples helped me some
Jayne Germany: we are to use the prof dev plan for both ourselves and with our campus tech
Sandra Hines: did you ask her about the three of us and if we could all be in on the sessions at the same time?
Jodie Ingram: I got to read the preconf examples but the goals would not open kept saying I was already logined int
Jayne Germany: no
Jayne Germany: i did not read any examples
Sandra Hines: If you get out for a while and then get back in, it will reset
Sandra Hines: one example was a copy and paste of a session in chat of very much what we are to do
Jayne Germany: i was thinking we need to save this
Sandra Hines: she started with asking what her goals were and used questions to help her clarify them
Sandra Hines: save..yes.. it has a save.as feature.. I'll try it
Jayne Germany: and it opens in notepad
Jayne Germany: maybe word, too didn't try that
Jodie Ingram: I like your goals sandra, but I went another direction and I think I am wrong. My goal is specific to the mentee session and his lesson.
Sandra Hines: works well.
Sandra Hines: I don't know what topic they are going to choose yet
Jayne Germany: I went with more generic goals too
Sandra Hines: can you send my each of your goals?
Jodie Ingram: I think yall are on the right track
Jodie Ingram: I will have to redo my real quick
Jayne Germany: can i type them up..give me 5 min
Sandra Hines: okay
Sandra Hines: Very well worded goals Jodie... i may alter some of mine to add a few of your phrases...smile
Jayne Germany: sandra, did you get mine?
Jodie Ingram: i got it jayne
Sandra Hines: just finished reading them... great goals... I should have read y'all first..smile
Jayne Germany: mine sound a bit wordy compared to both of yours
Jodie Ingram: I am glad I had yours first hehehe
Sandra Hines: well phrases
Sandra Hines: phased
Jodie Ingram: now what
Jayne Germany: so--should we go ver the pdp?
Sandra Hines: should we pick one goal to discuss for each of us
Jayne Germany: or do one person at a time
Jodie Ingram: I don't care. I am easy
Jayne Germany: do you have your pdp's in fornt of you?
Jodie Ingram: no
Sandra Hines: on the pdp...students would be our teacher...right?
Sandra Hines: I have it in front of me
Jodie Ingram: where are they at
Jayne Germany: that's what i asked c about
Sandra Hines: and she said?
Jayne Germany: she said we are to use it 4 ourselves and for our teachers
Sandra Hines: good
Sandra Hines: I think I found the pdp in the syllabus
Jayne Germany: let's tsstart w sandra since she got her goals done 1st!
Jodie Ingram: great
Sandra Hines: okay... chuckle...I can handle it.
Jayne Germany: clarifying ?s--what life long learning is it?
Jayne Germany: lfl learning is in ig4 btw
Jayne Germany: i think its effective communication and collaboartion
Jayne Germany: ig4 is interactive guide 4
Jayne Germany: maybe habits of mind?
Jodie Ingram: I am lost
Sandra Hines: the pdp is in int. act. guid 4
Jodie Ingram: thanks
Jayne Germany: im not sure this pdp fits our goals, unless we count the student as ourselves???
Jayne Germany: Are these goals supposed to be for our campus teachers???
Sandra Hines: because of our goals... what will our mentors be able to do... and that is what we could write on the pdp
Jodie Ingram: do you mean mentee
Sandra Hines: yes
Jayne Germany: that sounds good if you mean mentee
Sandra Hines: i did
Jodie Ingram: okay I finally have the pdp
Jayne Germany: so if you ask clarifying questions, your teacher will be able to...
Sandra Hines: i think that would work
Jayne Germany: ...foucus more on learner outcomes?
Jodie Ingram: i think we are on the right track now
Jayne Germany: me 2
Sandra Hines: sure hope so
Jodie Ingram: are the list under the type of learning column what we are suppose to fill in the blanks
Jayne Germany: do you all have interactive guide 4 in front of you?
Jayne Germany: it lists the types of learning
Sandra Hines: yes
Jayne Germany: doorbell1
Sandra Hines: can either of you get back into to look at connies example? the second of the top two?
Jodie Ingram: printing now. I am working at home and my folder of printouts are at school
Sandra Hines: printing the guide or the example?
Jayne Germany: where is the example?
Jodie Ingram: ig 4. I remember the example pretty well. whats the question
Sandra Hines: in module 3 towards the bottom
Jayne Germany: looking...
Sandra Hines: I was trying to remember the goal she was working toward..connie helped her clarify it
Jodie Ingram: it was about diverse learners
Jodie Ingram: I stole it for my goals
Sandra Hines: goalspd.rtf look at this file in module 3
Jodie Ingram: The goals fromthe example was Differentiate the needs of learners at various/diverse levels.

Sandra Hines: I think we will have to turn in the goalspd.rtf for this assignment
Jayne Germany: still working..i am having malicious script issues for the example...
Jayne Germany: okay--I have both open
Sandra Hines: If my goal was to. use questions to make the person reflect and think about their thinking ... would y'all be able to use that for this pre...sessioin?
Jodie Ingram: the goals are not due until week 3
Jayne Germany: yes--we will have to trun the pd in module 3
Sandra Hines: right...our discussion about them is due next week
Jodie Ingram: and the goals themselves too, right??
Sandra Hines: don't think so.. but could be wrong
Jodie Ingram: I think that what we are to do is to take your goal as you first wrote it and turn it into the finalized goal through cognitive coaching.
Sandra Hines: this is a participation grade
Jayne Germany: no--we have to dicuss this week
Jodie Ingram: But the goals are a product descriptor for week 3
Sandra Hines: let's try it... are y'all ready to help me clarify my goal?
Jayne Germany: yep--but there is a discussion in week 2
Jodie Ingram: ready
Jayne Germany: ready
Sandra Hines: okay... ask away
Jodie Ingram: which goal are we working on
Jayne Germany: is the goal still asking clarifying questions
Sandra Hines: use questions to make the student/teacher/person reflect and think about their thinking
Jayne Germany: now are we moving onto types of learning?
Jayne Germany: ...for that goal?
Sandra Hines: I thought clarifying and observable behaviors
Jodie Ingram: I was going to follow connie's example and ask how would you know that the personis reflecting
Jayne Germany: oh..I thought we were filling out the pdp, but I see what we are doing now..
Sandra Hines: I would look for more detailed explanation of their work/behavior
