How do you think your lesson went?

I think that the lesson went really well.  Students seemed to be very engaged and worked on task according to the plan.   Providing the students with teacher selected URLs enabled the students to quickly locate materials on their subject area.  Students were also given some freedom in locating resources on their own, which also afforded more data for the project.

What worked really well?  The number of days allowed for the students to complete their research in the technology lab was perfect.  Students were able to gather data to answer the teacher-designed questions, to complete a paper, and a presentation with more than enough information.

The groups worked well together.  The leaders of the group and their journaling kept me informed of what was happening in the minds of the students.  I particularly liked this part of the lesson design.

In this lesson is there anything you would decide to do differently the next time? I would like to use Microsoft Word in formatting the written paper and Power Point in designing the presentations.  I can see that more prep work will be needed in preparing the students for using these two applications, more time allotted in the computer lab would be needed, and a ProLite Projector and access to the server from my computer will have to be made so that I can access the kidsŐ folders.

Will you use this lesson again?  I will use this lesson again.

Did the students seem to find the lesson worthwhile?  The students enjoyed this hands-on method of learning.  While those students who are open to learning obtained a lot of knowledge on this topic, students who struggled paying attention and keeping focused had also commented how fun this lesson was.
