2. Use digital video camera to capture their process of building their simple machine

Intel Digital Video Camera

Teacher Computer with Projection Device

Camara - quantity is unknown

Group setting will be difficult without prior knowledge of class

Batteries - will cameras be ready

Unknown

3. Students take home the digital camera to capture their building process

Instrctions for building and video

What happens if video is lost and simple machines is built

Assitive Technologies available at students home. (unknown at this time)

Match

4. Present their video and their simple machine in a “show and tell” fashion and save for younger classes

As the instructor, I will open the lesson with a team teaching review of what simple machines are. I will then present a power point on research techniques. Presenting the steps on the internet will allow the students to see how search engines work. While the students are rotating through the mini lab, I will guide them in their research. While the rotations are continueing in the mini lab - other students will be taught the use of the digital camera. Each student will have to video the others in their groups. We will have a peer demonstration for each group. AFter my initial presentaion on search engines, I will act as a guide to the students in the rest of the lesson cycle. Powerpoint

Group Assignments

For Support I will need the mini computer lab functioning. I will need the Intel Digital Cameras to be setup and ready to go. A timeline is very important due to the small number of computers and limited cameras.
