1.
Name of the software: Wave Creator 3.1 by Blaze Audio
2. Approximate price: $19.95
3. Location or web site to see the software: http://www.blazeaudio.com
4. Brief review:
Ease of use: It was very easy to use. The layout is large
and clear.
Feasibility: I think it is worth the $19.95. I did have
some problems with
the format of some of the wav files that I had planned to use. It
would not accept them. So I found some that would work.
Features of the software: Wave Creator is a complete wave editor
and recorder
with cut, copy, paste, a 10 band stereo equalizer, and the ability
to convert
between MP3s and wave files.

(microphone, line-in, etc.)
• Full graphic waveform window allows you to see a visual
display of your audio and zoom in or out at will
• Open, Edit, and Save MP3 files.
• Cut-and-paste editing of your audio in the waveform window
• Support for three different sampling rates (11, 22, and
44 KHz) and both 8 and 16-bit audio

can be applied to your audio
• Amplification and automatic volume normalization
• Ability to mix sounds -- you can overlay your voice on top

or each channel separately

wave files from any source your computer supports. Plug in a mike
to record voices or acoustic performances, connect a tape deck or
turntable to the line input on your sound card, or record the output
of a software MIDI wavetable synthesizer.

5. Give us your opinion on the software.
What did you like or dislike?
I used a small clip of the song,
Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I added three wave clips of
some of the memorable quotes from the Forrest Gump movie. Then I
added some special effects (chorus, amplify, fade in, fade out).
I liked the software. It was very easy to use. It definitely does
not cover every aspect of creating sound files but it is useful
for the price. Blaze Audio also sells other types of software that
would add on to Wave Creator's usefulness, like RipEditBurn and
WaveBreaker. I also liked that the demo version is fully functional
for 30 days. Most of the ones that I tried would not let you save
your file. We will use it this year in our Video Technology class.
