Aspect 2: The Social System
Students will begin the lesson on the Earth's materials brainstorming what they already know about the resources. They will view a movie from United Streaming to add to that knowledge. Students will be able to use Kidspiration in a classification activity and the Internet to research the life cycle of a resource. As students realize the importance of conserving the Earth's materials, they will create a product from recycled materials. Using productivity software they will create and advertisement to promote that new product. see student goals and tools above
Aspect 3: The Role of the Instructor
The instructor will guide the students through a discussion of the earth's materials. Using a video and listening guide the teacher will facilitate the connection of new knowledge to prior knowledge. To check for understanding, students will be required to classify resources using Kidspiration. The instructor will facilitate small groups as they do Internet research to determine the life cycle of a resource and create and advertise a new product. Classroom management skills and provisions for diverse learners will be addressed. see teacher goals and tools above
Aspect 4: The Support System

Technical Support

  • Computer Lab
  • Printer
  • Productivity Software (Star Office, Kidspiration)
