Student Goal Process information and develop a deeper understanding of : * the impact of family marriages, deaths, and births on the family.	Direct instruction Demonstration	The teacher will introduce the unit of study, scope and sequence, and accountability requirements and measurement instruments.	Observe and Question: Students will take notes and ask questions when necessary.
	Collaboration Dialogue Questioning	Teacher will facilitate the interviewing process. She will model the interview process and brainstorm with the students the kinds of questions that will be acceptable. She will observe, ask questions, provide feedback, making suggestions, throughout the lesson.	Listening & Questioning: Students will choose family members to interview, practice interviewing with their peers and conduct interviews,.
	Collaboration Dialogue Questioning	Teacher will facilitate the giving the students internet sites to use for the research. She will facilitate process by observing, asking questions, providing feedback, making suggestions throughout the session.	Research: Students will take information gained from interviews to research family information on the web.
Student Goal: Students will synthesize their finding for a formal presentation. Create an electronic document. Create a family tree	Direct instruction Demonstration Collaboration	The teacher will introduce the report format, word processing skills, editing of text, and saving to shared folders of the server.	Analyze: The students will determine important information that should be included in the final product.
			Synthesize: The students will synthesize their interviewing information and internet research into a formal electronic document.
	Presentation	Teacher observation, project rubric	Observation. Students will do a self evaluation based on the project rubric.
Teacher Goal: Access a variety of resources and apply new technology to instruction	Lecture Demonstration Collaboration Facilitating student reports and family trees. Teacher Goal: The teacher will increase her level of technology integration and classroom management strategies into the curriculum in addition to addressing the needs of diverse student learners.	Guide Practice Discussion/Questioning	Teacher researches internet sites with help of mentor. Teacher creates sample family tree template with help of mentor. Mentor gives examples of electronic documents for consideration to teacher. Mentor will use questioning strategies to facilitate the teacher choices of what she thinks will work best in her class. What assistive technology is needed to help all students be successful in this class. What classroom management strategies will teacher use in lab settings? What student behaviors will determine student success? How will she determine what technologies she will use? Aspect 2 - The Social System
In this lesson the students will be required to interact with various family members to do their interviews.Then students will reflect upon the importance of each family members role in the family unit. The activities will also require the students to interact with each other while revealing personal information about themselves and their family while discussing common experiences. Through the discussions the students will compare and see similarities and differences between families. Students will have to cooperate and show empathy for others.
Aspect 3 - The Role of the Instructor
The instructor will present information and guide the students using direct instruction, collaboration, and demonstration . She will help the students to develop their desired questioning outcomes, electronic document, internet research, and family tree. She will guide the students in discussions to help students summarize learning and with the presentations to the class.
