Post Conference conducted by Mike Kunkel with my mentor, David Ambrose.
Questions:
How did the lesson go?
The lesson went fine.
The students were receptive and cooperative. David had very little difficulty getting the points of the lesson
across to the students.
Were there any problems?
The only actual "problem" was that some of the
students knew most of the concepts being covered.
How did the kids respond?
The kids responded well.
Some of them felt that it was a bit "too easy", but we have so
many levels of competency involved in the class.
How long did the introduction part take?
Only about 15 minutes
How long did it take the kids to complete the project?
Many are still working on it (as of Friday, 10/22), some
were finished with the research part during the first class period.
Did all of the equipment cooperate?
We had some printing problems (this was due to some problems
with the network) but other than that, everything else seemed to work fine
(David loved the projector!)
Did your classroom teacher feel confident about teaching the
lesson?
David had no problems with the concepts. Since we started planning this, he has
actually done more with software (including Photoshop and Publisher).
Did you have the opportunity to watch them present it?
I kept my ears open during the lesson (around the corner
from my classroom) but unfortunately, I teach an Algebra class that I cannot
leave unattended and there weren't any subs available at the time. I didn't hear any objections or problems.
Did this experience make the classroom teacher feel better
about using technology lessons in the future?
The whole process made David more at ease with using
technology. I am in the process of
setting up a second computer lab that will give him (along with the other
teachers) more access to the computers.
Post Conference with Pam Willis and her mentor, Lisha.
Questions:
How did the lesson go?
Lisha said that it went fine. The kids seemed to catch
on.
Were there any problems?
No not really. Some of the kids were a little confused
on how to get to the shared folder but when they were shown again they were
fine.
How did the kids respond?
Very well
How long did the introduction part take?
About 20 minutes
How long did it take the kids to complete the project?
This is something that they will use all year so there is
not a completion time.
Did all of the equipment cooperate?
Yes, thank goodness.
Did your classroom teacher feel confident about teaching the
lesson?
Yes, she had worked with it before hand and some of the kids
already knew how to use it.
Did you have the opportunity to watch them present it?
No, I had a class at the time of presentation.
Did this experience make the classroom teacher feel better
about using technology lessons in the future?
She was already pretty comfortable about using technology. She is one of our younger teachers the only thing she needed help with was the networking and Photoshop.
