Review
1. The five stages of electronic portfolio development are defining the portfolio context and goals, working, reflective, connected, presentation portfolio.
2. A portfolio is a purposeful collection of student work based on standards that demonstrates effort, progress and achievement.
3. Defining the portfolio context and goals identifies the purpose, learner outcomes goals, resources available, hardware and software, time, and staff development.
4. Using standards in portfolios forms an ideal framework for organizing the portfolio.
5. The working stage for the portfolio development is to identify the content of portfolio items and the type of evidence to be collected.
6. The reflective stage of the portfolio development should focus on writing general reflective statements on achieving each standard, artifact, and the overall portfolio development.
7. Designing professional portfolios for change "without written commentaries, explanations and reflections, the portfolio is no more than a notebook of artifacts or a scrapbook of teaching mementos."
8. The questions “What?", "So What?", "Now What?" are what should be answered for each artifact included in the portfolio.
9. The connected stage in the portfolio development connects and refines the selection of artifacts and their alignment to the standards in the portfolio.
10. The presentation stage in the portfolio development is to celebrate with others the accomplishments demonstrated in the portfolio.
