Instruction that Incorporates Technology

Know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.

Many times in teaching I have found that I forget how technical some concepts can be. For example, after using graphic design program like Pagemaker and Photoshop for years, you forget that a young freshman might find the concepts of the program a little confusing. I usually try to create "puzzle" pieces that students can eventually put together to form a complete product. Hitting them with giant project is sometimes way too overwhelming. Tech Apps are a great way to introduce all kinds of concepts as long as you give it to them in parts. The artifact below contains many different concepts such as text wrap, feathering and text along a path. The student is given a timeline to do it in and many different approaches to the concepts.

This website teaches students how to create a brochure and also shows different elements that can be included in the brochure. They can make the pieces first and then complete the entire project.

Description:

Rationale:

The techniques are fairly universal. I wanted to design something that I could use the classroom


Implications for future:

Hopefully I can use this for all of my students because it's methods are timeless
