Communicate Information

Communicate information in different formats and for diverse audiences.

Based on the old, traditional methods of teaching, we somtimes thing as the all-knowing pillar of knowledgd, our job is to stand in front of our pupils and fill them with our knowledge. The reality is far different. Let's face it, we have to compete with today's television and video industry. Gone are the days of spouting information and expecting students to internalize it. Students have become visual learners with audio as an entertaining sidebar. They have to see what you want them to do. Very few, in my opinion are audio learners. To communicate with students today you have to pull out all the stops. Powerpoint presentations, websites, music videos, these are all things they can relate to. Simply answering the questions in the back of the book simply won't cut it in this day and age. We have to adapt to them. They can't help it if they can't adapt to us. Technology is going to be the key to keeping students interested in the future.

Description:

This is a teaching website designed to help students understand and particular concept in photoshop. It took quite awhile to build, but contains everything a student would need to produce a product using Adobe Photoshop. It contains a step by step process and then a finished product.

Rationale:

It was designed to give students the visual aides that they need to complete work in a complicated program like photoshop. With all the layers needed for photoshop this site will help them get all the steps that they need. It also contains PDFs of each of the steps so that they can print them if needed.

Implications for future:

This website can be updated and changed to adapt to the skill level of students.

Reviewers Comments:

Very interesting. I will have to try this. Thanks.
This looks pretty simple. I think I'll try it tomorrow when I get to school.
