Masthead
I tried to create a masthead that was eyecatching and colorful. Within Microsoft Publisher 2002, I selected an image,
repeated the image, and finally recolored all of the images with hues that complemented my overall color scheme. For the text,
I basically selected a readable font and resized it several times in order to create a sense of emphasis. By filling the background
with color, I added attempted to provide a sense of depth. I also added a divider to bringthe entire masthead together and provide
definition within the given space.
Newsletter Template
I used Microsoft Publisher 2002 in order to create this template, which can be used for future issues. I was able to
use several features and tools within the software to create columns, text boxes, titles, etc. The graphics, which I tried to
incorporate cohesively, were also found within the clipart gallery of MS Publsiher. Below is a sample of the pages within
the template. To view the other pages , please click the link above or use you mouse to rollover and click the image. If you are
lucky enough to have MS Publsiher 2002, here is a link to the .pub file
Desktop Publsihing Newsletter
For the final product, I copied and pasted text from the course readings and interactive guides to fill each section
of the newletter. I also incorporated several different graphic images from the clipart gallery. Since MS Publsiher 2002 did
not have an export feature, I was able to save the final newsletter as a postscript file and import the file into Adobe's Distiller
in order to create a pdf document for all to see. Here is a link to the .pub file. You will find a sample of the pages below
