Video Technology
The video technology teacher has the knowledge and skills needed
to teach the Foundations, Information Acquisition, Work in Solving
Problems, Communication strands of the Technology Applications Texas
Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in video technology, in addition
to the content described in Technology Applications Standards I-V.
Reflection on this Standard:
Video Technology was the TA area that I had the least knowledge
of when coming into the TATC program, but the area where I have
had the most growth and development. I have learned the foundations
of digital video and have learned to optimize existing video and
create effective new video productions. Steve Pandolfo has been
a great mentor for me as I have had so much to learn, and so little
time to learn it (since digital video is now the focus of my job).

Title: About Time
Course: Video
Date Created: June 30, 2003
Source: "The Way Things Work" video captured from
analog 3/4" master tape, clock animation clip - Ulead Video
Library
Media: Windows Media Encoder, Ulead Video Studio
Description:
This video was created as an demonstration for a workshop in using
Ulead Video Studio. It combines transitions, title graphics, and
animation.
Rationale:
I chose to include this video clip because it demonstrates all of
the basic fundamentals of video production in a simple, easy to
replicate example that could be used in a classroom demonstration,
an example activity, or other curriculum project.
Implications for future:
In the future, I intend to create more sample videos for teachers
to use to learn how to use video in their classrooms, how to take
small clips of curriculum videos and create their own meaningful
lesson productions.
Reviewers Comments:
Cool! How did you do that? Could you teach me?
