Instruction that Incorporates Technology

Know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.

Reflection

Technology is used throughout the instructional world.  It is not only used in computer classes but also in math, English, foreign languages, vocational education, and the list could go on forever.  It is necessary for teachers to continue to learn and integrate technology into their lesson plans.

Title: Building a Web Site

Course:  TATC 101 - Digital Graphics

Date Created: December 11, 2002

Source:  Individual Project

Media:  Web page utilizing Microsoft FrontPage

Description: In this assignment I built a website for an entire lesson on building websites!  I included various links for locating service providers, introduction to FrontPage 2000, inserting images, and creating links.  There are other areas to build on should it be used in "real life."

Rationale: This assignment forced me to draw out a plan before beginning the lesson and the website.  I had to consider the materials needed , the audience to be taught, the purpose behind the lesson, and the best way to present it in a comprehensive manner.

Implications for future:  This lesson was designed for our community education classes that we offer occasionally to area citizens.  I have already been approached to teach something similar in this upcoming school year and will expand it into a full-fledged lesson for a two night class.
