Description: This assignment required
that we create a business card that related to
something we were interested in or that
reflected something about us. I chose to
do a card that I could use as a consultant in my
basket business. The card required a logo
and a message that was suitable for the type of
communication.
Rationale: I chose this artifact
for my portfolio because it utilized several
formats to get to the finished product.
It is also something that I will be able to use
outside of school and that I take pride in
having designed. I just wish the final
example showed the colors as well as the actual
printed product. This was a great
beginning assignment for desktop publishing
because it allowed us to play around with the
elements of design and work on our graphics
skills.
Implications for future: This is
a great assignment to use in our community
education classes which we offer periodically
throughout the year. It is a quick
assignment but utilizes many elements which
could be taught in an evening class.
