Title: Integration Movie: CHICAGO
Course: 103 Multimedia Module 2
Date Created: February 24, 2003
Source: LiveMotion, GoLive, Multiquence, CoolEdit, PhotoEditor
Media: LiveMotion SWF file in GoLive
Description: This is a multimedia product created around the movie of CHICAGO. I created an entire multimedia Splash Page as a persuasive tool based on this movie. I focused on adults and senior citizens in a light persuasive tone. The assignment required a storyboard and a time line. I integrated my edited sound into the LiveMotion SWF file. The project also required related links to other sites, video clip site, and credits.
Rationale: The assignment required time management, research, and basic editing skills for audio and video clips . I loved the ease of use of the Adobe products and I wanted an easier way to create animations for web design. I spent many hours experimenting and testing editing tools, page properties, and other components to work seamlessly in a web page with no size limitations for 56k users. I am very proud of this production, but I am learning to project the concepts to teachers for classroom usage.
Implications for future: Early exposure to new methods of communication, such as Multimedia and the video, is important for all Texas students. All students could be introduced to these methods in any school with the aid of the basic software, average computers, and a creative teacher.
Those students who have a further interest in multimedia technology, could learn more about networking and/or about other technologies by participating in the same concepts taught in the TATC and required by the Technology TEKS.
The same hypertext demonstrations in Word, PowerPoint, or DreamWeaver could be used in class presentations and web pages using the LiveMotion. Tutorials and reference functions must be included for teachers, administrators, and students to implement and model for the community the use of these concepts.
Reviewers Comments: Very creative! Interesting way to do a time line! I think the way you presented this would be persuasive to the target audience! I didn't want to see this movie, but this makes me reconsider! Your colors are all readable and add to the overall effect. I loved it, but I'm sorry I saw it while I 'm still working on mine, it made me very nervous and insecure!!!!

Title: The web INDEX.html page for the Hunting Song, by Tom Lehrer. From the Album: That was the Year that Was, 1963. The Video has written permission from the Tom Lehrer. Foundation for Education Excellences.
Course: TATC Module 105 Video
Date Created: April 15, 2003
Source: LiveMotion, GoLive, Multiquence, CoolEdit, PhotoEditor. Imported into the computer with Movie Maker and Dazzle 80 tools
Media: Still Digital Images, Digital Video on Hi 8 video tape.
Description: This web page was done in LiveMotion. I spent five hours cutting photos and reshaping the flow of the pictures to match the introduce of the Hunting Song. The purpose of the web page was to re-create the fun of Tom Lehrer's music and introduce the video in a unique way.
Rationale: This is my best work because it was selected for the TATC Hall of Fame. The assignment required time management, research, and basic editing skills for audio and video clips . I loved the ease-of-use of the Adobe products and I wanted to create a great animations using LiveMotion for my required web site. I spent many hours experimenting and testing editing tools, techniques and software properties, and other components to work seamlessly in the web page. I am very proud of this production, but I am still researching how to integrate these concepts into classroom setting for teachers and student use.
Implications for future: These concepts are important for all Texas teachers and students. All students could be introduced to these methods in any school with the aid of the free software like IMovie or MovieMaker included in almost every computer today. This course does require an above average computers with a lot of hard drive space and at least 512MB of memory. It also requires a lot of patient and a very creative teacher. Better tutorials and reference materials must be created for teachers, administrators, and students.
Those students who have a further interests in video technology, could learn more about Television and Radio in Career Technology courses. They may also learn other technologies by participating in any of the other TA TEKS courses required by the State of Texas.
Reviewer's Comments: "The video is very cute and does a great job of telling a very funny story."
