Remember, tell everyone that, Stephen Covey says, to do the large things first then fill-in the small items later. Each of us needs to stay on top of techniques for video and technology. But more importantly, we need to understand situational leadership, collaborative learning, teaming, and re-thinking our teaching techniques to ask more questions. We need to model and not be the "sage on the stage." If you have not been to a collaborative learning training in the last two years you need to go. These important skills will allow you to integrate the research and reading components into the everyday learning and technology research for your students. |

Title: The Classroom Environment for Collaboration and Projects Course: TATC Video 105 Date Created: May 29, 2003 Source: Stephen Covey, Keith Mitchell, Ray Jaksa Media: Acrobat Reader PDF Description: The project was to identify team and collaboration methods. I defined each role in this collaborative learning model to point out the importance of each role being practiced and re-inforced every day. I redefined the roles according to my experiences and models I have used in the past. Rationale: Remember tell everyone that, "Stephen Covey says," to do the large things first then fill-in the small items later." Defining the roles and exploring collaboration is the future for education. It is my experience that leadership is situational in any technology project because of skills, experience, and task knowledge. Defined roles are helpful to start a project, but as time goes by and the deadlines hit, then everyone must work together to finish, adjust, or fill-in as needed. Implications for future: Each person should also keep a daily journal on the collaborative projects they create and evaluate their performance each day. The teacher is the facilitator and should only question and guide the responsibilities and objectives of the team. Collaboration is the key for maximum learning. To do that, each day the teacher must ask each student what they completed and "What did each student learn today?" This will increase interest and link learning objectives to each days project tasks.
