Title: Represent Design
Course: 100 Foundations
Date Created: August 26, 2002
Source: The image: Autoshape from the Drawing Toolbar in Powerpoint. The Designs by: Laura Vinson
Media: Powerpoint 2000 saved as a Web Page
Description: Creating a presentation of similar images that represent the design principles of value, color, line, texture, form, repetition, space, emphasis, distortion, and movement.
Rationale: I wanted to use my own design schemes even though I am not artistic enough to develop my own graphic at this time. I felt that the simple presentation to demonstrate the basic concepts of design would be most useful in my classroom.
Implications for future: The peer reviews I gave to other students and the reviews I received for my work were the most valuable learning tools in this project. Seeing the interpretation of the project by others gave me a new insight for reviewing design in the future. When I use design in future products, I will have a much better idea of what to look for and how others may perceive my work.
