Professional Goals

My overall professional goal is to provide quality instruction in the field of technology applications that will enable my students to be successful after high school.  As with any goal, in order to achieve this professional goal, I must set short and long term goals for myself.  Therefore, my goals are as follows:

Short-Term Goals

  • Complete each TATC course assignment to the best of my ability without stressing too much
  • Complete each TATC course of study at my best level for that area
  • Apply the knowledge I gain from each TATC course towards my instruction in the classroom
  • Apply the knowledge I gain from each TATC course to help other teachers bring technology into their classroom
  • Complete all TATC courses in order to receive the Technology Applications Teacher Certification

Long-Term Goals

  • Continue to apply the knowledge gained from the TATC program in my instruction to students
  • Continue to learn technology applications through workshops, seminars, and self-study
  • Offer all areas of the technology applications courses to our students (all we lack is digital graphics/animation)

I attended a conference one summer that had a theme similar to "Embrace Change to Meet New Challenges."  I made a poster with those words and put it in my classroom.  It reminds us to continue to learn how to embrace change, rather than run from it, to meet the goals we set for ourselves.  I feel my goals are challenges I am trying to attain to better myself.  Therefore, I must accept changes that take place as I work to attain my goals.
