Acquire, Analyze, and Evaluate Information

Katherine Marin

Identify task requirements, apply search strategies, and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.

I didn't realize how much information could be found about a variety of software programs.  After this exercise I found that not only was the information readily available but also a downloadable trial version.

Title:  Sound Editing Software

Course:  Multimedia

Date Created:  March 12, 2003

Source: Microsoft Word

Media:  Microsoft Word

Description:  We were asked to choose a sound editing software online and give a description of the software.  We were asked to give the name and price of the program, and then give a website were the program can be viewed (many of them have a trial version downloadable version).  Then we were to give details such as feasibility, ease of use, and a review.  We were to then give our opinion of the program after using the trial version.

Rationale:  I had never used sound editing software before and was afraid to even try.  This helped me to look at all the different programs available and showed me how to examine each program to find the best one for my needs.  Downloading the trial version allowed me to learn about the software and make a decision about software purchases in the future.

Implications for future:  After reading everyone's critique, we should  be able to choose a sound editing software program that would be applicable to our needs.
