Use technology-related terms, concepts, data input strategies, and ethical practices to make informed decisions about current technologies and their applications

Before this assignment I was not aware of what to consider when choosing information from a website.  This lesson was very helpful and has helped me to look at key points before using information of a website.

Title:  Evaluating a Site for Content and Functionality

Course:  Web Mastering

Date Created:  September 23, 2003

Source:  Microsoft FrontPage

Media:  Internet Explorer

Description:  We were to locate two websites and evaluate them for accuracy, authority, objectivity, and currency.

Rationale:  This assignment is useful to carefully examine a website for content based on who made the site, why it is made, and how often is the information updated.   I chose this artifact because I learned so much about evaluating a web site.  I have been able to pass this on to my web authoring class and teach this to my classes who do research on the Internet.

Implications for future: This is a good way to teach students how to choose information from a website based on the criteria discussed in this artifact.
