Welcome to My TATC Portfolio HomeThe major components and navigation of my portfolio are presented on the left, at the top under the banner and at the bottom of the page. The following components comprise my navigation and portfolio framework:
I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and moved to Gorman, Texas in 1982. I married in 1982 and my husband and I have 5 children. Angie is 20 years old and recently married, Emma is 18 and plans to attend college in the fall, Michael is 14 and stays busy with his youth group, Elizabeth is 7 and in the first grade, and Matthew is 2 and with his older sisters and brother is very spoiled. My family is very important to my husband and I and I love spending time with them. I attended Ranger College in 1995 and graduated with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems. I decided to continue my education and graduated from Tarleton State University in 1998. My first teaching job was at Coleman high school in Coleman Texas. I drove150 miles round trip for two years. I enjoyed teaching in Coleman but, the commute was hard and it took me away from my children. I began teaching at Gorman high school which enabled me to be with my children throughout the day and stay involved with them. I have been teaching in Gorman for 2 years. This is a favorite picture of my son Matthew Marin at 9mos. old. Taken almost 1 year ago.
This picture was taken about 4 years ago. It's one of my favorites, and I keep it on the mirror of my dresser in my bedroom so I can look at it everyday. When my older children were young they loved the Lion King. I bought them the video and they played it so much that they broke the tape. I liked this link when I found it. I would love to take them to see the show on Broadway. http://disney.go.com/disneytheatrical/lionking/index.html
Whenever I prepare a lesson for the first time I always go over it to anticipate any problems or questions the students may have. Often I find that I need to make sure students are aware of certain things before they are able to complete an exercise, and if I have already gone through the material it won't surprise me when they begin asking questions. I also don't have a problem telling a student that I don't have an answer to a question, but I tell them that I will try to find the answer and get back with them. I'm also able to tell students when I have been wrong about something. They appreciate the honesty. |
