Artifact 12 Descriptors: Title: Course: 103 Multimedia Date Created: February Source: Individual project Media: Description: I created a photo album of "Granny's Little Wonders", my instructions were to create a photo album that consisted of a splash page and a web page with the following included: 5-10 pictures, Vector/Bitmapped Graphics , video clip and a title. I created a photo album of family life and included my children and grandchildren.
Rationale: I value this experience because it gave me an understanding on how to ceate a splash page that I did not have. I had no prior knowledge of video or animation before doing this product. This assignment incorporated many elements of the multimedia class. It included creating animation, editing digital graphics, web authoring, creating a presentation, and incorporating video into the presentation. The TEKS represented in this project help me understand how to create a web page with a multimedia presentation and use editing of digital graphics and animation. This was a good assignment to help me understand the TEKS indicated above. I included in my portfolio because I felt it proved that I could apply the knowledge I have in these areas to create a good multimedia product successfully. I successfully incorporated all of the various elements required to complete this product. Implications for future: This assignment allowed me to incorporate many elements into one multimedia production. I feel this is a very important skill to know and teach to students. This assignment encouraged the use of more than one software package and a multitude of skills to incorporate it into one production. I will use this in my multimedia class, teacher workshops and my community classes. Community classes include a workshop that incorporates their specific business areas into a web page. We will show the business and its particular offering to the community through the use of the web page and a PowerPoint presentation. This is a perfect task for this workshop. I will be able to use the skills I have learned in this project in multimedia classes and other TA courses as well as teacher technology staff development. We then created a multimedia production around that show to persuade the audience to watch it. My multimedia production was based on "Dances with Wolves". I targeted a specific audience for my movie and presented information to that audience to persuade them to watch it. I set up a storyboard and time line to help in the planning of the project and then posted it on my web page. I used the internet to find graphics, sound files, and video clips that would bring excitement and glamour to the site. GoLive was the web authoring software used. I learned to use new features in GoLive to bring my production together. Rationale: I included this in my portfolio because it covered many areas of multimedia. This product showed improvement in my knowledge and skills in many different areas of the Technology Applications. I had not done any sound or ideo editing before TATC, I feel this was a great learning experience. I included this as my best work because it challenged my technology knowledge and skills. I was successufull in the project objectives but only after I learned 2 new software packages and hardware configurations. This was not only a challenging project but a project that had a new learning experience at every turn. This was all so new to me, problem solving was a key factor from the beginning, I loved it. Implications for future: Reviewers Comments: My sentiments exactly! I experienced high frustrations on this project (and still am) yet it was very rewarding and I learned soooooooo much! I just hope I can hang on to the info I learned for other projects. I like your choice of colors and presentation style for your project. The background looks like leather or suede to me and goes well with the theme. Your video worked fine for me, but took a long time to load even on cable. It may just be my connection today. Nice job! Read back through your text, you need to catch some typos and spellings, but I can certainly understand the situation. Too much to do, too little time.....I'm in the same boat.
