Instruction that Incorporates Technology
Know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.
Reflection:
As technology evolves we must keep up with the new innovative ways we can use technology. We must be able to deliver the instruction needed in this vast changing world of technology. We as teachers must be creative in our delivery of information, to not only accommodate the school environment but also the adult environment. The integration of technology into the curriculum will be a vital part of instruction for all areas including the core curriculum areas.

Description:
The assignment for this module required the development of a unit lesson plan using the TEKS for a Desktop Publishing product. I chose to do mine using a newsletter as the product/unit plan. The product required : an objective of the unit or lesson; teacher tools and supplies list; concepts and TEKS applications; sample product of lesson; terms utilized in lesson; procedures used in instruction; and an assessment tool. The product was formatted as a universally assessable file.
Rationale:
I included this product in my portfolio because if expanded my realm of thinking when it comes to planning a TA lesson plan. The unit was planned, organized and taught in a in a manner in which students can use there creative but at the same time have guidance from the teacher. The students were able to evaluate their own work based on objectives for the lesson. This allows the students to progress and grow at their level of learning. The value of using these product in real life situations makes this a valid learning experience.
Implications for future:
This unit plan will be used in the learning community for all levels of learners. I will use this in my TA classes as a model for developing other TA unit/lessons. I plan to use this lesson in my teacher staff development workshops this spring. The integration of applications in the work force is a key goal I have set for myself. I feel that we must have integration of TA Applications into the curriculum and the workforce to declare technology be success at all.
Reviewers Comments:
