Description:
We were to choose one of three topics and research that topic. Using our own experience, readings and/or research as a foundation for this report, offer your findings on the topics below. Present your findings to the class.
Teach us something we do not know about your topic. Be creative in your presentations. Examples may include a web site, a presentation, a video clip, or a written summary.
My topic included:
Image File Formats, 4 or more formats presented, description, platform, advantages, disadvantages, representative graphic examples, 2 or more URL links, summarize the topic.
Rationale:
This assignment gave me the opportunity to research information on file formats. In working with files I have needed this information many times to be able to manipulate the correct file format in the product I am creating.. I will use these skills in class and in products I create for the district.
I included this in my portfolio because I feel it proves my many different strengths relating to technology applications. It shows my ability to organize ideas and create a technology product that represents quality and professionalism. I was able to use technology related terms, concepts, and data input strategies help show students how to make informed decisions about the various image file formats and when to use them.
Implications for Future:
I will use this presentation to teach the various topics in my high school courses and in my community workshops. I now have many resources to pull from to reinforce and teach topics on image file formats, how to capture images, and file sizes and how to reduce them while maintaining file integrity.
I will continue to create presentations such as video, web sites, slide shows, etc. that will assure the constant modeling for my students ethical practices and keep up-to-day in the changing world of technology.
