Observation Experience
My observation experience occurred at the TCEA Convention held in February 2003. I attended three days of workshops dealing with Technology Application topics. I chose these workshops for my observation experience because they addressed subjects I am directly associated with each day in technology application classes and in technology integration in the core subjects.
Observation experiences included technology integration using desktop publishing, multimedia, digital graphics and web authoring . They focused on integration building and maintaining a school web site, creating images in Adobe LiveMotion that could be modified and updated directly into my Adobe GoLive site. The digital graphics workshop addressed creating movies to spice up our school's web site, this session addressed learning how to use the interface and editing tools for producing broadcast-quality movies in Adobe Premiere for video, multimedia, or the web. This was of interest to me because my classes maintain the school internet and intranet web site. Technology application lesson plans, web sites, and printed materials were shared by presenters that have been valuable in compiling a solid TA curriculum. Other sessions I observed dealt with copyright issues to consider when producing and maintaining a web site. These observation experiences have improved my instructional ability in teaching the technology application classes as well as giving me information I can use in all aspects of technology integration K-12.
