Title: Movie Integration
Course: TATC 103 Multimedia
Date Created: March 3, 2003
Source: Internet, Movie clips, sound files
Media: Adobe Go Live 6
Description: This artifact is a multimedia product based on a movie that we selected as one of our favorites. The assignment was to select a target audience and try to persuade them to watch our favorite movie. I selected Disney's Toy Story and my target audience was people my own age (40-50). By providing graphics from Internet sites and links to the Pixar Studio site that has a step-by-step procedure of producing such a film, I tried to appeal to my audience's interest in computer graphics. The project included a timeline, a storyboard, a credits page, audio and video clips and graphics and was created in Adobe Go Live 6.0. The sound files I found were .wav files that I mixed together using BlazeAudio Wave Creator. I also included the trailer to the original Toy Story movie. The timeline was produced in PowerPoint and saved as a .pdf file to be used in the web page.
Rationale: This project was a real learning experience for me because I have no background with audio files or video files. It took me several tries to even download the trial version of WaveCreator! Since this project I have learned how to manipulate audio files by cutting and pasting and mixing .wav files. I included this project in my portfolio because it shows that I have learned how to incorporate many things into a web page including Flash 4 animation, graphics, PowerPoint slides, hyperlinks, audio files and video.
Implications for future: I am now able to manipulate all types of graphics, animation, video and audio files which will enable me to teach students how to better create multimedia presentations. I still have a way to go in learning how to reduce video files, I feel that this assignment has prepared me to teach high school students more effectively.
Reviewers Comments: "Excellent job, Danita. I hope you are enjoying your break. Your splash page was a nice intro into your site. Your pictures, video, and sites all worked together to persuade viewers of the importance of Toy Story. Your web page colors, text, etc. all enhanced the site and coordinated with your theme."

Title: Photo Album
Course: Multimedia
Date Created: February 24, 2003
Source: Flash 4, PowerPoint, Word
Media: Webpage
Description: This project was to include an introduction (splash) animation page along with a web site that housed a brief description of pictures, summary of bitmapped and/or vector graphics, a link to or embed photo album presentation, and a credits page/section.
Rationale: Doing this project required knowledge of file formats, adding animation and graphics to a webpage and linking objects in a page together. This project was designed to reinforce past knowledge and push the learner to new heights in managing files in a webpage. One of the most challenging parts of this assignment was the splash animation page. Designing and making the animation work correctly made me practice my animation skills as well as my drawing skill. Combining the PowerPoint and the Flash 4 animation into the web page reinforced my knowledge about compatibility in file formats. I included it in my portfolio because I feel that it is effective in communicating information about my life and about my family.
Implications for future: This project was a turning point for me because I was able to create an animation in Flash 4 and add it to my webpage. Also I learned how to embed a Powerpoint presentation into the website. This will allow me to improve the webpages I design in the future and also will make them functional from the perspective of a teacher.
Reviewers Comments: "Danita, like I told you earlier...I loved the basketball "splash". Your album was awesome....great job!!!"
