Description: Create a simple site of three or more pages about a travel destination of your choice. The page was to be designed for a travel agency. We were to use three navigational themes: global, parallel and local as well as use the "bread crumb" architecture for our site.
Rationale:The Travel Site Web Page project was designed for us to learn the different types of navigation as well as learn to create a well designed web page. We were required to use graphics and links to other sites on the web. One of the goals I achieve by producing this original web page was the ability to design links between pages and to information on the same page. Specifically, I learned that creating a web page requires much thought and pre-planning. This project made me learn these skills quickly and effectively.
Implications for future:This project made me aware of how pages are set up for easy navigation. It also was the catalyst for speeding up my learning process. Having never done a web page, I had to learn a lot in a little amount of time. It made me realize that I can become more skilled if I apply myself to the task. My goal for the next page I design is to make it even easier to navigate. Learning the Adobe GoLive software has made it easier to do other assignments for TATC and also has given me ideas to work with in the classroom. In the future, I would like to be able to teach students with this software.

Title: A Study of Digital Graphics as an Art Form
Course: Portfolio Thesis
Date Created: May 28, 2003
Source: Internet
Media: Web page, Adobe Go Live
Description: This webpage is one I did simply out of the interest in digital graphics as an art form. It has several links that can assist someone that doesn't know much about digital art and it also is a good resource for people who enjoy creating. There are links to many site that deal with technology and the use of digital graphics to create art. Also, I created this site using a large font and lots of contrast between the background and the print to assist people that are visually impaired.
Rationale: The reason I create this website is for a tool to use in my Graphics classes. One of the TEKS in Digital Graphics and Animation is to "research digital graphis as an art form and the impact of digital graphics on society". This particular TEK has always been hard to cover, I think. Using what I have learned in TATC, I created a web page that can not only be used by computer classes but by art classes as well. By using this web page I can give my students a glimpse of what is being done and what is available.
Implications for future: The past two years I have had students enter a local student art show with their digital pictures. In the future I would like to impress people with the abilities of my students in the area of graphic art. Albany is fortunate to have a great museum that is willing to display student art each year. My students have done good work in the past, but with my new knowledge and resources I would like to have them create better products using the elements and principles of design, color mixing theories and other aspects of good design.
Reviewers Comments: "Danita, can I use this in my art class? This is a great resource to create an interest in art."
