Professional Goals

My short term goal is to make it through this course and learn all I can. By having certification in Technology Applications, I will be able to teach many more courses. I would like to be able to prepare my students well for careers and for post-secondary education. From the things we have done in TATC, I have been able to improve my skills on the computer. The resources that have been shared through all these modules will help me improve the curriculum in my classes.

In eleven years I will be able to retire from public school teaching. I would like to be able to return to the business world or work within the educational setting to train employees and teachers to better use the technology that is available. So much time and money is wasted due to the lack of training in many school districts. Another option would be to teach at a junior college or technical school. By keeping abreast of new technology, I can make myself marketable in many different areas. I love to learn new things and take on challenges so I am sure that there will be many opportunities in the area of technology.
