Title: Star
Wars Movie and Sound Integration Product
Course: 103 Multimedia
Date Created:
March 5, 2003
Source: Personal
knowledge and
Media: Acoustica
MP3 Editor software, ULead Visual Studio, Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX
Description:
In the activity of the video and sound integration, we were required to
prepare a web page for a target audience (mine was Star Wars fans) and
make it persuasive to draw attention to the movie/TV show. In the production
of this page we were to include a sound file related to the movie/TV show
that we created using special sound editing software in an earlier activity.
We were also required to include a movie clip related to the movie.
The entire product was to include
links to outside sources concerning the same movie, enhancing the content
of the web page. We were required to also keep in mind the theme of the
page for the production of the web page.
In the final product, we included
a timeline of our activities and thought processes as well as a storyboard
for the multimedia production that we included with the sound clip. This
could have been a Shockwave presentation or a movie presentation. Either
way, it was meant to enhance the final product of the page by providing
more interesting content and pushing the final theme to a new level.
Rationale:The
reason that I chose to include this particular activity for this artifact
was because I was able to participate in and conduct the following activities
through the entire production process:
- aquire, edit, mix, and publish
sounds,
- aquire, edit, mix, and publish
videos for the web,
- aquire, edit and publish
images for the web,
- prepare and keep track of
a timeline to present the production process to fellow classmates,
- plan a multimedia presentation
using a storyboard and applying the storyboard theme and ideas to produce
a final product,
- prepare a multimedia presentation
using video, sound and concepts prepared and outlined in the storyboard,
design and format a web page to include the introduction page, a sound
page, a video page, a timeline page, and a storyboard page,
- provide proper credit for
image, sound and video resources used on the internet,
- prepare links to access
outside web pages as well as those product related pages,
- embed sounds and video in
a web page to present to people on the internet,
- publish and test the final
product to ensure that all links and multimedia products work,
- present the final product
to my teacher and fellow students for feedback and suggestions.
Implications for future:After
preparing this activity I am aware that I have enjoyed this more than
any other subject that we have covered. This is definitely an area that
I feel I excel in and would very much like to study more. In the direct
future, I would like to devote more time to creating multimedia and sound
products that I can include in class projects as examples for my students
to use.
I hope to grow more in the
area of sound file knowledge because there is so much that I have yet
to grasp. I do understand most of the simple files but I would very much
like to become knowledgeable about most sound file types as well as being
able to edit and manage them.
Reviewers Comments:
Mary-Dawn Hudspeth(TATC Participant) "Your entire
project is beautiful! The sparkling black background with the striking
images make for a gorgeous web site. I was especially taken by the video
and sound that you created! What a feat! I am so impressed. I don't think
you need to take the video course. You are awesome!" (3/12/03)
Rachel M. Newman
(TATC Instructor) "great job - I love the sound track - the stars
on the background add to the overall effect" (3/11/03)
