We were to select a particular software or subject to provide instructions for and were required to keep our audience in mind at all times where it pertained to navigation, color and page design, as well as content. During the entire process, we were required to prepare the page with cascading style sheets to aid in the design styles to keep continuity throughout the site. We were then required to create a custom rubric designed for our particular requirements for the site. Rationale: I chose this particular artifact for this example because we were required to plan, organize, deliver and evaluate our own work as well as that of our fellow classmates. During the entire project we followed the following process which reflects the standards quite well:
Implications for future: This particular activity helped me to step in the direction that I honestly want to be headed towards in the future--teacher instruction and support. Throughout this activity I could see that the use of rubrics can aid a student in the final production of the activities for a class because a more specific idea of what is expected is provided. Although rubrics are not easy to produce, it is a useful and powerful tool to help students to reach their expected potential in an activity. I plan to utilize rubrics in my classroom more often because I am positive that it can truly help to prepare more aware and productive students. Reviewers Comments: SueAnn Simpson(TATC Participant) "Your site looks great....I'll have to update mine when we switch over to DW MX but as of now, I haven't made the transition - haven't had time!" (12/16/02)
Kayla Steiner (TATC Instructor) "You've got a great site and I think you will be thankful in the long run that you took the time and effort to use CSS. It really makes your site much easier to add to, manage, and change later on." (12/17/02)
