Dead or Alive--The Animated Poster Multimedia Unit
Course: TATC
101 Digital Graphics
Date Created:
October 2002
Source: Images,

Media: Flash

Description:
In this particular activity, we were to create a multimedia unit lesson
plan to share with the classmates in our group. We were to teach or reinforce
the concepts of:
- creating and editing digital
graphics reinforcing the concepts of background, middle ground and foreground
images for 3D effects,
- prepare lecture notes and
student handouts for an animation graphics activity,
- prepare step-by-step instructions
to help the students and teachers apply the animation and digital graphic
concepts,
- prepare vocabulary terms
and key for students and teachers to introduce or reinforce the concepts
utilized in the lesson.
Rationale: The
reason that I chose to use this particular artifact in my portfolio is
because it included several different ways to convey information through
digital images, Adobe Acrobat files, and web page design. I believe that
through the process I was able to incorporate many of the concepts and
standards that are good representations of the TA standards. The particular
activities that I completed are as follows:
- plan and prepare a multimedia
and digital graphic assignment that can be a strong representation of
good design and concepts,
- prepare vocabulary, step-by-step
instructions for both teacher and students,
- prepare an objects file
that can be downloaded in a ZIP format for the teachers and students
to access,
- prepare examples of both
general digital graphic activities as well as multimedia production,
- design and prepare a web
page that provided links to all activity files and examples of the work
that is easy to use and understand,
- post the web page for my
classmates to critique and utilize if they chose.
Implications for future:
Because of this activity I am aware of the different formats that can
be used in just one location. I hope to learn in the future about more
file formats for images, text, multimedia and web design to further my
knowledge base and increase my flexibility as a computer user and instructor.

the music with the animation. You really included all three parts (digital
graphics, animation and sound) into the project very well!! " (10/29/02)
Debbie K. Birdsong

then the red text to show the steps in detail. I look forward to trying
this lesson out." (11/06/02)
