Multimedia
The multimedia teacher has
the knowledge and skills needed to teach the Foundations, Information
Acquisition, Work in Solving Problems, Communication strands of
the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills
(TEKS) in multimedia, in addition to the content described in Technology
Applications Standards I-V.
Reflection: Once
again, I was thrown to the wolves! I have never worked with multimedia
with the exception of PowerPoint. Once the initial shock wore off,
I felt more confident. I really wished I had more time to experiment
with the sound and video files. I really enjoyed learning the MGI
VideoWave product. Though I did not use it to its fullest capacity.
I think that my biggest obstacle was finding sound files and video
files to edit from the Internet. Searching for these files was overwhelming.
I took a few ideas and assigned
them to my students. I must say that they usually outdid me. I used
these assignments toward the end of the year. This was a lifesaver.
My students not only did well they a great time working on their
projects. They also enjoyed looking at each others video. No two
videos were the same. It was a good experience for both me and my
students.
I guess in the end I tamed
a few wolves.

Title: Interactive Photo
Album
Course: Multimedia 103
Date Created: March
2, 2003
Source: Family photos
Media: Multimedia Dreamweaver,
MS PowerPoint, and Adobe LiveMotion
Description: Create
a photo album of your life. It can combine family, work, a collection
of various pictures or just a hobby that you like. You will have
a minimum of two pages, which will consist of an introduction (splash)
animation page and the web page with all of the other required criteria.
The photo album will be unlike any that you have never created before.
It will be an Interactive Internet Photo Album for all to see.
Rationale: I selected
this artifact because It looks so impressive. I think most students
would gain a lot of confidence once they produced an interactive
album. We often use PowerPoint to create a presentation but this
assignment takes that to a new level by integrating different applications.
Review Comments:Your
presentation was so fantastic! I loved the captions because they
added so much! I felt like I was with them hunting for eggs. I especially
loved the blackmail picture. :-)
Great work!
