Acquire, Analyze, and Evaluate Information

Identify task requirements, apply search strategies, and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.

Reflection: Throughout my TATC learning experience I have learned of a number of web resources for my classes. In each course we used search strategies to find TA based tools to use in the classroom. At times this process seemed overwhelming and time consuming, but with the help other TA learners I feel more comfortable with searching for material.

It is surprising is the amount of FREE material that is available. I was impressed with the resources that other TA learners found and were already using. I hope to use more of these resources next year.

Title: Class Information web site

Course: Multimedia 203

Date Created: May 21, 2003

Source: Internet search and personal knowledge

Media: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe LiveMotion

Description: Develop a course web site with the following: course outline, scope and sequence, calendar, introduction video, and an animated logo. The web site would be used by students, parents, and other teachers.

Rationale: I selected this artifact because it not only represented Standard II but also other Standards and TA TEKS. I used search strategies to provide links for my site and contributed what I found with my group. As a group we were to gather a number of resources that would help other teachers and students in a multimedia course.

Implications for future: I realize that a course web site would require a lot of work to keep the information provided up to date, but I hope to use a web site for my classes this next year. I think that this can be a great tool to help communicate with students, parents, and the community.

Reviewers Comments: Good organization and consistency throughout the site.
