Artifact #3
Descriptors:Video Camera Techniques, Editing, Web Authoring, communicating
Title: Video Do's and Don'ts
Course: Video 105
Date Created: March 2003
Source: Fossil Ridge High School
Media: Dreamweaver, Photoshop
Description:Using any footage of a short video, or still shots, create a web essay to demonstrate techniques that are recommended and contrast them to demonstrate the effect of incorrect use of camera angles and techniques in the shooting of a video product. Discuss each technique with it's benefits or detriments.
Rationale:I have chosen this artifact to demonstrate the necessity for beginners to learn the pitfalls of the medium by seeing a demonstration of the applications. For instance, this webpage uses still shots from video that was used to chronical a World Geography Class and their study of Ancient Egypt. The event was a highly publicized event and the video was promoted on the Campus homepage for Fossil Ridge in the form of a movie. The page seeks to demonstrate the good and bad camera techniques that were shot during the event.
Implications for future: By demonstrating the correct and incorrect camera techniques, the students can plan better video shots and do better editing of their assignments.
Reviewers Comments:Standard III- Artifact III
You did a great job on demonstrating the good and the bad techniques for taking pictures for videoing. The web page is very attractive. The background is very soothing and does not interfere with the pictures. Great job!
