Instruction that Incorporates Technology

Know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.

Reflection: I feel that our purpose in TATC is to be trained to teach technology classes with knowledge and know-how. We are obtaining this with all of the studies we have done. This standard basically tells me that getting our instruction ready and done properly is our main goal. TEKS are the guidelines to prepare the units. However, our hearts will guide us through the process to make our students life-time learners and I think technology is the key.

Artifact #14

Descriptors: Media Products

Title: Heart of Texas Teachers

Course: 201 Digital Graphics Extended

Date Created: December 17, 2002

Source: Found saying from the Internet but rest of project was personally designed.

Media: Used Live Motion to make the logo and finished it in Photoshop. Built letterhead in Print Shop Pro Publisher. Built .rtf in Word.

Description: I built a lesson based off of building a logo using graphical know-how put into a desktop publishing finished product. This lesson is ready for a teacher or student to take it and produce a letterhead with a logo for a company or organization. Included in this lesson are the instructions, a sample, a handout for the teacher to use, and a rubric to grade the finished product.

Rationale: I chose this artifact because it is planned and designed to be used in the classroom for instruction - thus - it illustrates this standard. I gained experience building a lesson using the correct parts needed to teach a full technology experience - thus - I will use this in my classroom.

Implications for future: Like I just said in the rationale, I will use this unit in my classroom. I love the fact that I included a rubric. I grade with rubrics and it takes time to build one. I will have this one to use on various Desktop Publishing projects when a logo is required to be built in Digital Graphics. I can always improve on my logo building...

Reviewer's Comments: I love the look of the logo - you are very creative!
