Identify task requirements, apply search strategies, and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.

Reflection: As I reflect on this standard, I know that all of us who surf the Internet and use technology are constantly searching and analyzing all the information that we find. In order to search effectively and analyze intelligently, TATC has given me the resources I needed to have the ability to evaluate electronic data. I know that I look at the Internet in a whole new light because of TATC.

Media: Front Page was used to build the web page.

Description: I had to go out on the Internet and find examples to show the usage of the five technology applications courses to be taken in TATC. I then built a web page to showcase my examples. I took each example and displayed them onto the web page. Along with the example, I linked to the Internet site where each example had been located. With each example, I wrote a description describing where and why I chose this example to showcase each technology application course. Then, I wrote an analysis of how this example justifies representing this technology applications course. Next, I wrote an interpretation for each example telling how these found examples would be used in these courses. Lastly, I wrote my judgment of the overall example as to the strengths of this example's representation for the technology course.

Rationale: I chose this artifact because it is built on searching and finding a technology application example from the standards VII - XI and presenting them in one web page with a written analysis included. I have had to change some items on this assignment due to links changing and things being removed from web sites. These changes made me go back and rethink and look for even better examples now that I have had more training this past year.

Implications for future: This will probably be one of the first assignments that I have my classes do this year to illustrate to themselves and to me that they know what each of the technology classes are and what they are expected to learn in each. Naturally, we will discuss what they need to look for in each area. Then a couple of times throughout the year, I will have them update and change their own examples as they learn more.
