Richard
Dreyfuss was born in New York in 1947. After working
on Broadway for a while, he got noticed for his role
in American Graffiti. After Graffiti, he became well
known for roles in Jaws, Close Encounters Of The Third
Kind, The Goodbye Girl, which he won an Oscar for, Stakeout,
and Mr. Hollands Opus. |

John Williams should need little introduction
since he is almost certainly the most well-known
film composer, and possibly to many people the
best-known composer, period. Born in New York,
HIs first Oscar was for the incidental music to
"Fiddler on the Roof". Subsequent Oscars
were for "Jaws", "Star Wars",
"ET" and "Schindler's List".

The most commercially successful filmmaker in
Hollywood history, Steven Spielberg was born December
18, 1946, in Cincinnati, OH. A lifelong cinema
buff, he began directing his first short movies
while still a child, later studying film at California
State University. He first made his mark in television,
then graduated to feature films in 1974. His reputation
as a rising star was cemented with Jaws the following
year. 1977's Close Encounters of the Third Kind,
was another staggering success, employing state-of-the-art
special effects to document its story of contact
with alien life. His long list of box office hits
include Raiders of the Lost Ark, ET, The Color
Purple, Jurrassic Park, and Schindler's List,
which won 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture
